Coinbase Wallet, the self-custody crypto wallet from Coinbase, has introduced a new feature that allows users to send money to anyone around the world with just a link. This means that users can transfer funds via popular messaging apps like WhatsApp, iMessage, and Telegram, as well as social media platforms such as Facebook, Snapchat, TikTok and Instagram.

The new feature aims to make crypto payments more accessible and convenient for everyone, regardless of their technical skills or location. Users can simply create a payment link on Coinbase Wallet and share it with anyone they want to send money to. The recipient does not need to have a Coinbase account or even a crypto wallet. They can simply follow the link and claim their funds by creating a Coinbase Wallet or connecting an existing one.

According to Coinbase, this feature is especially useful for cross-border payments, as it eliminates the need for bank accounts, wire transfers, or intermediaries. Users can send money instantly and securely with low fees and high speed. The feature supports all the cryptocurrencies that are available on Coinbase Wallet, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDC, and many others.

Coinbase Wallet is different from the main Coinbase app, as it gives users full control over their private keys and funds. Users can store their crypto assets securely on their own devices, without relying on a centralized custodian. Users can also access decentralized applications (DApps) on various blockchains, such as Ethereum, Polygon, and Binance Smart Chain.

Coinbase Wallet is available for both iOS and Android devices. Users can download it for free from the App Store or Google Play. To learn more about how to use the new payment link feature, users can visit the official blog post from Coinbase.
