A New Era of Data Availability

Avail DA’s mainnet is designed to optimize data availability for highly scalable and customizable rollups. By introducing a modular data availability layer, Avail DA aims to provide secure data availability guarantees, enabling entire networks of blockchains to scale efficiently. This is achieved through a combination of validity proofs and data availability sampling, ensuring that network participants can independently verify the validity of blocks, thereby reducing the risk of fraud or censorship.

Key Features and Benefits

  1. Enhanced Scalability: Avail DA supports Layer 2 (L2) solutions such as Validiums, Optimiums, and Sovereign Rollups, which can significantly reduce operational costs and enhance scalability.
  2. Robust Infrastructure: The platform is optimized for zero-knowledge (ZK) technology, providing a robust data availability layer for developers building scalable blockchains.
  3. Community and Partnerships: Avail DA has secured over 70 partnerships, including collaborations with major L2 ecosystems like Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, Starkware, and ZKsync.

The Road to Mainnet

The journey to this launch began in late 2020 when Anurag Arjun and Prabal Banerjee envisioned a credibly neutral data availability layer to empower blockchains. By March 2023, Avail had spun out from Polygon Labs as an independent entity, attracting significant investment from industry leaders such as Peter Thiel’s Founders Fund and Dragonfly Capital.

Community Engagement

Avail DA’s development was bolstered by community involvement through incentivized testnet campaigns like Clash of Nodes and the Light Client Lift-off Challenge. These campaigns saw over 87,000 accounts contributing to the Goldberg Testnet, which processed more than 118 million transactions.

AVAIL Token Launch

Alongside the mainnet launch, Avail introduced its native token, AVAIL. Token holders can stake their AVAIL tokens on the platform, further contributing to the network’s security and scalability.

With the mainnet and AVAIL token now live, Avail DA is poised to revolutionize the blockchain landscape by providing a scalable, cost-effective, and secure data availability solution.
